Social media
packages:
what they cost

Typical price ranges, what you actually get at each tier, and how to tell whether a package is worth what it costs.

Reporting on social media package performance

Social media marketing packages for small business cost roughly $300 to $1,500 a month for basic to mid-tier management, and $1,500 to $3,000 or more once dedicated ad management and custom content are included. What moves you between those bands is not the agency’s postcode — it is how many platforms you are on, how often you post, and whether someone is managing paid ads on top of the organic work.

What is actually included in a social media marketing package

Packages vary enormously, and two quotes at the same price can contain very different amounts of work. These five things are what you are really comparing.

Content calendar and planning

A month planned in advance around what your business actually has on — offers, seasons, jobs worth showing. Without this you get filler, and filler is what makes social media feel pointless.

Post creation and design

Photo, short-form video, graphics and captions produced in your brand’s look. Ask specifically whether video is included. Reels and shorts are where organic reach still lives, and they are also the most expensive thing to produce, so they are the first thing quietly dropped from a cheap package.

Community management

Someone answering comments, DMs and reviews daily in your voice. This is the line item most often missing, and the one that costs you actual money when it is missing — an unanswered message from someone ready to buy is a lost customer, not a lost impression.

Paid social ads

Organic reach is capped by design on every platform. Paid changes that, but check whether the quote includes the management of ads, the budget for ads, or both. Confusing those two is the single most common reason a package costs more than the client expected.

Monthly reporting

What was posted, what performed, what it cost, what grew, and what changes next month. One page you can read without someone walking you through it.

How pricing tiers usually scale

Across the US market, social media marketing package pricing tends to fall into three bands.

Starter$300–$800

Per month. One platform, a handful of posts a week, organic only. Fine if you are getting started and just need consistency.

Standard$800–$1,500

Per month. Two or three platforms, more frequent posting, community management, light paid support. Where most small businesses land.

Full service$1,500–$3,000+

Per month. Custom content including video, dedicated ad management, and a strategy that changes based on what the numbers say.

A quote well below the starter band usually means automated scheduling with nobody behind it. A quote well above the full-service band should come with a specific reason attached — heavy video production, multiple locations, or a genuinely large ad budget to manage.

Which platforms matter most, and why that affects cost

Every platform you add is another calendar to plan, another format to produce for, and another inbox to answer. That is why platform count drives price more than almost anything else.

  • Instagram and TikTok are video-first. Highest reach, highest production cost.
  • Facebook still matters for local businesses and for paid targeting, and it is cheap to run alongside Instagram because the content overlaps.
  • LinkedIn is worth it if you sell to other businesses and close to worthless if you do not.
  • YouTube is the most expensive to do properly and the longest to pay off.
  • Google Business Profile is the one everybody forgets. It is free, it feeds the map pack, and for a local business it often outperforms everything above it.

Running three platforms well beats running six badly, and it costs less. Any agency that agrees to all six at a starter price is planning to cross-post the same asset everywhere.

How to tell if a package’s price matches what you are getting

Four questions, and you can ask all of them on a first call.

  1. Who specifically will run my account, and can I contact them? A vague answer here means a queue, and a queue means slow replies to your customers.
  2. Is ad budget included in this number or on top of it? Get it in writing.
  3. How much video is in this, per month? The answer separates real packages from graphics-and-captions packages at the same price.
  4. Who owns the accounts? If the agency holds the logins, changing agencies later costs you your audience. They should be in your name from day one.

What we do

Omega Media Group is a social media marketing company that runs accounts end to end — content made, posts scheduled, comments and messages answered by a named person, in English and Spanish. Our services start as low as $300–500, and what it actually costs depends on how many channels and how much content you need. We agree the number in writing before anything starts.

If you are comparing quotes right now, send us the one you are looking at and we will tell you straight what is missing from it — even if the answer is that it is a good deal and you should take it.

Questions

Frequently
asked

The things people ask before they buy a package.

Agencies build tiers around three things: how many platforms you are on, how often you post, and whether paid ads are included. That is why a single-platform starter package runs roughly $300–$800 a month while a full-service package with dedicated ad management and custom content runs $1,500–$3,000 or more. Anything priced outside those bands usually tells you something — either work is being left out, or work is being done somewhere very cheap.

It is worth it when the package includes genuine strategy, consistent posting and someone actually answering comments and messages. It is not worth it when you are paying for a scheduling tool with an invoice attached. The question to ask is not what it costs but what happens on the days you are busy — because that is the value you are buying.

Three to five posts per week per platform is a reasonable starting point. Consistency matters more than volume: five posts a week every week beats fifteen in one month and nothing the next, because the algorithm and your audience both reward showing up predictably.

Do it yourself while you have the time and the design skills, and it is genuinely cheaper. Hire someone when the posting starts slipping, when messages sit unanswered for days, or when you start running paid campaigns that need watching. The tipping point is almost always time rather than skill.

Organic content reaches the people already following you and costs nothing but the work. Paid ads put your content in front of people who have never heard of you and are billed by the platform, separately from any management fee. Most packages include organic; check carefully whether ad budget is included or extra, because that single line changes the real cost more than anything else on the quote.

Look for a content strategy written for your business rather than a template, real examples of the kind of content they produce, transparent reporting you can read without them explaining it, and a named person you can contact. If the answer to “who will be running my account” is vague, that is your answer.
